Dr Pepper has done it now, they are going to be dropping more than Pepsi now. 7UP will fall worse than Sierra Mist did before going natural if this spreads to other areas.

18,000 may not seem like a lot to you but for each one of those people..they have 2-3 if not more friends they influence and even more family and that is as people have said..the beginning. CSDs are still on the decline in consumption per consumer(at least in America) and you honestly need all the support you can get in this tough market.

Isn't decline good in some cases? Look at Sierra Mist, declines forced them to place Sugar in Sierra Mist products and reversed the trend, coming back with an improved product line (though the original should come back with sugar for a LTO in 'retro' graphics).

The Cranberry is great, maybe Sierra Mist should get all the fruit flavors instead of Mountain Dew. In NYC Sierra Mist Cranberry Splash is year round, and Mountain Dew Code Red just disappeared off of shelves a while ago.

It would be interesting if more sugar Dr Pepper products appeared to get more drinkers in their other brands.

This is being looked at completely the wrong way. Yes, it may just be 18 thousand people. And those 18 thousand people may tell only a few friends. But those people drink a LOT of Dr. Pepper. Think about it. I drink maybe 3 Dr. Pepper's a month MAX. And that's pushing it. People in the Dr. Pepper "Heartland" might drink that many a day. I've read a lot of articles now where they stated they drank a case a week. At minimum, most of the 18 thousand people boycotting drank at least one a day. I'm not saying that everyone in the heartland drank a case a week, but you can be almost certain that the people mad enough to boycott did. So if the average person drinks 3 a month, and the average Dubliner drinks one a day then thats a loss of a lot more than people are giving them credit for. If you cut out somethings heart then they die. In this case heartland.
