7-11 (the ubiquitious convience store chain) is thinking of launching its own store brand of beer. It would be made in El Salvador and be called San something or other.
The brand would be sold as singles only at about $1 can.
Availablity would be limitied, because many states require beer to be sold to retailers through a distributor/wholesaler, which would preclude a store brand. Wal-Mart looked into a Sam's Club/Sam's Choice beer and gave up for that reason.
