I'm taking my girlfriend to Vegas to see Madonna at the MGM Grand. She just went shopping and she brought back Aquafina Water, Lipton Green Tea, and Hawaiian Punch to drink on the road and while we're down there...She says she doesn't want me to drink pop, (she's on this watch what I eat/drink thing lately). Are there any good local soda's in the Vegas area to try? If I can sneak past the drink nazi, I may be able to pick some new drinks up to try. Any suggestions.

I'm sure you know that HFCS/Sugar is the same in soda pop as it is in non carbonated drinks. Hawaiian Punch is loaded with HFCS/carbohydrates. I don't understand what her thinking is?

The more she watches your soda pop intake the more you will sneak drink what you crave. IMO love is never having to restrict a soda pop lovers liquid pleasure.

Don't forget to visit The World of Coca-Cola Vegas... I've had a great time there! Also you can try Mello Yello, Red Flash, C2, Tab and much more there... or for seven bucks you can try the Coke products from the world...

I don't know about the drinks, but I do know a thing or two about the MGM Grand Garden Arena, having seen Aerosmith there twice.

Get there early! I can't stress that enough. You have to walk a mile through the huge casino and the massive food court to get to the arena entrance, and the line can get backed up really fast.

Also, don't be in a rush to leave, as it's very difficult to actually escape the arena after the concert is over. It's a decent place to see a show and all, but the pedestrian traffic is a nightmare.

But as mentioned above, stop at World Of Coke, it's actually very close to MGM.

Are you staying at the MGM Grand?
If you are, hope in a cab, and head about 1 mile east on tropicana. There is a Vons. You should be able to find a Cactus Cooler!

With the exception of the Aquafina those drinks are nothing more than drinking a flat soda. The only difference is that they are not carbonated vs. carbonated. Sure the Lipton tea has less calories than a regular soda but it is soda none the less. I think you may actually be able to feel your teeth rotting away as you drink the HP it is so loaded with hfcs. LOL.
Anyways enjoy your trip to Vegas, I wish I were headed there myself.
