Has anyone else seen these?

They are 237 mL cans as opposed to the normal 355 mL (12 oz.). I just bought them today at a grocery store here in Calgary for $2.99 (6-pack).

I remember back in the late 80's seeing a 7-Up can that was even smaller, it came from Hawaii.

I remember 8-ounce Coke and Shasta cans back in the late 70's/early 80's....they looked about like that Pepsi can in the picture.

8 ounce Pepsi products are all over the place in the US. Pepsi has produced an exclusive 18 pack for Wal-Mart. Other stores sell 6 packs. Pepsi, Diet, Sierra Mist, and Dew is what I saw.

speaking of exclusives for walmart and sams, my distributor gets jammed up with stuff walmart and sams say they're gonna take (usually special packages) and never do, or take forever doing).

walmart's ability to bully around local dist's and even the major companies is truly amazing. then again, they are the 3000 store gorilla.

This is exactly why I don't shop there. I refuse to buy their product since they feel they have to tell me what to buy. Frankly, Wal*Mart can go to (well, you know) because they seemingly are trying to dictate consumer behaviour and that's just not tolerable.

We all have to watch Walmart closely. I believe their whole intention is to drive all the smaller retailers out. If we want any choice in our products we need to support the other stores so they can thrive against this monster.

Here in Staunton Wal-Mart has a three strike rule. Basically every time there is a misake with their order: wrong flavor, short, or whatever, it's a strike. These strikes never go away, once you get one they're there, and that's it. Three strikes they wants a new bulk rep, and a new driver. They refuse 500 case orders at the drop of a hat. If someone like K-Mart tried to pull the same sh*t, they'd get laughed out of town.

That must be up to the store, because the one I used to service erased the strikes on January 1st. The whole thing is a bunch of hooey, anyway.

CCE is going to ASN (advance ship notice -- the bill is transmitted and is in their computer before the order gets there) with Wal-Mart.

Maybe the person that told me that just didn't know what they were talking about, forever does seem a little extreme, but ya never know with Wal-Mart. But I think it is up to each store, I know 2807 in Harrisonburg Va doesn't have a strike system at all.

they have the strike system here but they do not adhere to it all the same. there is one store in particular that has kicked 3 different drivers out for product misloads, and on the other hand the other stores you basically have to go and cuss out the manager to get a strike. (hypothetical speaking)
