I wrote this yesterday about the original Mountain Dew marketing campaign.
The campaign matched the youthful exuberance of being a young adult with the "pep" of energy from it's higher caffeine content. This appealed to a younger generation of soda pop consumers that has transcended across several generations of soda pop drinkers.
Bevnet posted Pepsi's current news release from 10/18/06. I did not see this press release prior to making the above post.LOL Looks like I was not too far off in my description regarding Pepsi/MD marketing strategies.

And this press release confirms even more the release of the Caramel Creem flavor of Pepsi Jazz...

IMO the ads of "It's the cola" campaign were good, specially I liked the "Spartacus" ad... even I had the chance to see that commercial in the screens of the Fashion Mall in Vegas with an amazing sound, also I liked the one of the "zumo roasted chicken"... but now that I read that Pepsi will release an ad of girls chasing the Pepsi globe like if it was a Beatle... not good.
