My local grocery chain (owned by Kroger) is running a deep discount deal this week on 12-packs of the DPSU sodas: Diet Rite, RC, Crush, Hires, etc. Does anyone know if this is a DPSU thing, Kroger thing, the bottler, or all of the above? Is this USA-wide?

Anywayz, I am drinking RC at a 3/$10 discount which I haven't seen for years.

You consider 3 for 10 a deep discount?

Out here in So Cal we get those 3 for $8 quite often, last week we had them 4 for $10. Had Coke stuff for that price last week too.

Chicago has much better sales. LOL
5 fridge packs for $10 to $11.
The major grocery stores have cubes on sale for $4 to $6.

These sales rotate between the major grocery stores. I have NEVER paid full price for soda pop in a Chi Town grocery store. The last time I did so was just before the soda pop price wars started moons ago. [img]smile.gif[/img]

Yeah they have 5/$10 here quite a bit too. I love it how they make you think you have to buy 5 in order for them to be $2 a piece, but you only have to buy 1 if thats all you want and its still only $2

Woodman's has the best deals on groceries and alcohol hands down. I drive the extra 20 minutes just to go there.

which woodmans store do you go to? i live in janesville, and have been to the beloit one, both madison woodmans, and the one in rockford, IL.

I go to the Kenosha and Carpenter Ville Woodman's.LOL Omega I drive about and hour to shop at Woodman's. Like you said...Woodman's is awesome!

Some cities are meant for volume where its easy to get with dense populations.. and some cities are meant for profit.. all depends where you live and the corporate decision for that region.

Now I must say from everything i've heard with woodmans, god bless them for practically giving things away to drive you there so they can make the money back on other items..

Well that's really not the case.
Woodman's complete selection of goods is discounted. Woodman's does not have all that many loss leaders. What they do have is mass volume turn over and a vast selection of brand and quality items. The entire store shares this kind of discount strategy.

Beleive me I would not travel and hour to save a few dollars on just a few loss leader items.LOL In general I save around 30% to 40% off my normal Chi Town weekly shopping bill.
