I guess it's from the high cost of cane sugar but I sure don't think any pop tastes as good as it used to now that they have high fructose corn syrup

well by golly there is something I have never heard. you do realize that the "now that" has been going on for some 20 years. It has alot to do with sugar tariffs on the cost.As far as cost to you or I it doesn't seem like much considering that it is only about a couple of pennies a 2 liter difference, BUT you take those few cents times 8 bottles to a case times the millions of cases a year by either Pepsi, coke or Dr Pepper companies and well you should get the idea of the cost.
I might be going out on a limb here but I think you should go and treat yourself to a nice tall glass of ice cold Pepsi.
