hey everyone, i have an etching of West Virginia on the top every can in a 12 pack, but nothing on the other 12 packs. anyone have an idea what this is for? pepsi.com has been absolutely no help.

We have those WV symbols with a number inside on all of our cans here in OH I believe it shows how much the can deposit is? Does yours have a number inside? This is just a guess, anyone else see this?

mine have the symbol with a 1 inside. not sure if it was collectable or not.

No, it's an excise tax on soda in West Virginia. It's just easier for them to put the info on all the cans, since it is a possibility that cans from that plant may be delivered to WV.

Our 20oz and 1L have multiple bottle deposit states on them.. for the same reason. It would be a nightmare to produce bottles that would only be shipped to one state.
