Why is "Coca Cola" still called "Coca-Cola Classic" years after the whole "New Coke" disaster

has long been forgotten? Why not just drop the "Classic" and call it "Coca-Cola" again? Is there some legal reason they can't change it back to its real name?

i think they should change it back to coca-cola as well.

Because people will probably revolt, thinking they've changed the formula again.

The word Classic has shrunk over time, but it's still there.

i doubt most people will even notice. and, so long as they don't actually change the formula, who cares?

they should just scrap "classic" already.

Between the years 1994-2000 the word "classic" was on only one side of the cans and bottles. Maybe people were confused or something so they added the word back on both sides of the cans and bottles again.

My question is why is the Coca-Cola Company slowly getting rid of the word Coke? I'm sure the new "retro" packaging the word "Coke" still does not appear on one side of the can. In the 70s the word Coke was emphasized a lot more than it is today. All their flavored colas now use the full Coca-Cola name as well.

I think they are trying to reemphasize Coca-Cola after the whole New Coke debacle back in the 80's. Not sure they necessarily need to, but hey, those marketing wizards they pay have to do SOMETHING.

Actually with Coke Zero, Coke Cherry, Coke Vanilla, Coke Whatevertheycanputinit, Classic makes sense.
