Default Cadbury testing Dr Pepper w/cane sugar

So in a Special Issue yesterday (3-27-07) Beverage Digest announced Cadbury is testing a version of Dr Pepper with cane sugar in 12-packs of 16-oz cans with retro image of "Ol' Doc" inside 10-2-4 clock-face. BD source spotted the product in a Springfield, MO Wal-mart. The product is separate from cane sugar sweetened DP that's been marketed in 12-oz cans by Dr Pepper plant in Dublin, TX for many years. Anyway, BD included a really lousy cell-phone picture of the can and apologized for quality of image. If anyone has a better image they can post here I'd appreciate it.

Have you seen this mention of the new Dr Pepper (with picture) over in the Cleveland sucrose thread?: <http://www.bevnet.com/bevboard/bevboard-general/30755-coca-cola-cleveland-dropped-hfcs-favor-sucrose.html#post352512>.

It's just cans at this point, isn't it? That would be a good thing if one had to stock up for a year or so. Does anyone know if this is a short-term promotion, or something longer?

Please post an update if you spot this in your area. Thanks!

The new Dr Pepper with Cane Sugar is now available at Wal-Mart's in the San Antonio, TX area. I just picked up two twelve packs of it tonight. The can includes the described graphic of ol'Doc but it also includes a short history/origin of Dr Pepper.

Wal-Mart is promoting it in the aisle between the grocery section and the rest of the store. I also spotted the new Diet Coke Plus next to the Dr Pepper stack but I decided to hold off and try that product some other time.

Someone at work had a can of dr pepper with cane sugar. They said it was $7 a 12 pack of 16 oz cans at Albertsons.

That is the going price everywhere around here as well. I have been driving 20 or so miles away and buying 12 oz cans for 8 bucks a case. I did buy 1 12pack of the 16 oz cans, good stuff but for a dollar or so more I can get 24 cans. I guess that is one advantage of living in a high per cap dr pepper area.
If what you did yesterday still looks big, you haven't done much today.

Have also found it in Walmart in Duncan, OK and in Sooners in Tishomingo, OK. It was $7 at both locations. I bought 1 case and have had 2 cans so far. I don't know but I think I like DP with hfcs instead, but both times I have drank it straight out of the can (I usually won't drink anything straight out of the can except for an energy drink).
