Pops: A new roadside pop destination in Oklahoma
- 06-25-2007 03:35 PM #2
Fans of Route 66 are pretty excited about this new development. It's nice to see something NEW next to the Mother Road.
Here are a couple of blog posts from the Route 66 News blog regarding the development of Pops.- Bottoms up for Pops (May 2006)
- Pops Update (November 2006)
- Raising the Pops Bottle (December 2006)
- Activity in Arcadia (January 2007)
- Pops of Arcadia documentary (April 2007)

Unfortunatly it will more than likely go bankrupt since it is the only thing (no houses, farms nothing) around for at least a mile in any direction. It is on a part of 66 that has virtually NO traffic. It is a nice looking place, I haven't been inside as it hadn't opened when I went by last. I guess next time I go to the inlaws I will have to venture back that way on the way home to check it out.
If what you did yesterday still looks big, you haven't done much today.

Interesting idea, don't know if it will fail or not.
Arcadia is an easy shot if you're in the Oklahoma City area, driving north on I-35. Only 9 miles east of Edmond on 66 according to Mapquest. I may check it out when heading from Texas to Wichita to see freinds.

Be Careful in Arcadia
I have taken a wait and see attitude with this project
I do see inside that they have bought their own fountain equipment which could help in adding some different brands.....
Do not speed in Arcadia. Do not speed in Arcadia. The speed trap East of Pops is there and will be cashing in.
