As part of their promotion for the new Simpsons Movie, 7-11 stores are receiving new exclusive products for sale in their stores. Among them are Krusty-Os cereal and Buzz Cola. I picked them up today and the Buzz Cola you can either get in the fountain or in a 6 pack can. They also have Blue Vanilla Woo Hoo flavored Squishee (Slurpee) for a limited time as well.

So how did the cola taste?

Never seen it

Just a thought and IMO.
Why would the existing 7-11 vender's step aside and
stay cool with "new products" in these stores.
Would Coca Cola,Pepsi not get involved in creating
special promotional products to meet 7-11 marketing program?

It's hard to beleive the soda pop companies would let their
summer sales suffer with 7-11 total in house brand promotions.

All 7-11's have the aforementioned Wahoo Blue Vanilla Squishee (Slurpee), Krusty O's, Buzz Cola cans, and the Simpson's pink frosted donuts. They also have some signs and other Simpsons merchandise as well. However there are 11 more stores which were rebranded Kwik-E-Mart's and have more of a Simpsons feel to the store.

I read an article that said that companies were in fact creating special products for this promo. The article stated Malt-O-Meal cereal, and other major brands were helping in this promo. Besides, Coca-Cola or Pepsi is not going to go bankrupt if they aren't part of this promo. And I really don't see them getting upset over 11 stores doing a promo. Sorry.

Tell that to Coke and Pepsi. LOL
I bet a few of our Coke/Pepsi employees would
not want to miss 4 months of "movement" in these
stores. Bonuses are gained or lost based on units sold.
Losing a few accounts for the summer might kill their
bonuses.

The "Woo-Hoo" Squishee is "made with premium brands of the Coca-Cola Company", according to the label.

As for Buzz Cola - I'm guessing Coke and Pepsi didn't want to compete with themselves. The stuff tastes a lot like Pepsi, for what it's worth.
