    Default Coca-Cola 1.65L Bottle

Want to see a pretty stupid product we launched today? Actually, I think it's pretty funny personally. Everyone, meet the 1.65L bottle..

We launched it in Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Sprite Zero, CF Diet Coke, Coke Zero today for 99 cents with a bottler code of SY (CCBCC NC)

Default Sounds like a marketing ploy to me

Make the bottle a bit smaller and give it a lower price. Customers who aren't paying attention will think it's a 2L bottle, put it in their cart, and think they've gotten a good deal.

At least they are charging less for the smaller bottle this time around. Back in the 70's, our local bottler produced Coke in 8-oz., 10-oz., and 12-oz. glass bottles -- and charged the same price for all 3 sizes.

To my knowledge, this is just the answer to cheaper 2L and c-stores.

I've got a feeling these will do very well with consumers... that magical 99 cent or 1 dollar price point is amazing at the volume difference I see... even going up to coolers in front where people expect to pay more, put a bottle at 99 cents it will fly but if you hit the 1.09 and up nobody wants it anymore like before... if they can maintain the same margins and get consumers to buy "full price" I think you will see this trend go forward..

personally.. I like the idea cause everyone complains 2liters go flat too quick so if there is less to waste, more to like! (as long as the price point stays 99 cents and doesn't go north like 2liters today are 1.39 on up)

I don't think the 1.5 ltrs will do well in traditional grocery stores.
As it is the 2 ltrs are very popular loss leaders at around the dollar
price point. Most consumers know the value difference of a 2 ltr
    bottle.

I do think the 1.5 ltr bottle will do extremely well in the C-Stores.
They will create a growing profit center for these business.

Did a few gas stations today and none of them had the 1.65L (55oz) bottles yet, anyways, we'll see when trucks drop off next weeks stuff.

I think C-stores are about the only place I'd buy one myself, if it was priced better than the 20oz-1/2liter-1liters are. But when I see 2-liters there I don't buy them because even though I know it's a better deal, I don't want that much soda in the car (It'll go flat and I'll pitch it before I drink it all) or try to stuff it into a cooler. Actually if it was like 1.35 liters or something like that and even a bit shorter I think I'd like it better.
Give me some cane sugar Pepsi in a glass bottle!!
