    Default Anyone remember Tab?

The "Teem" thread made me think of this.

Remember Tab? One of my best friends mom loved it...this is back when I was a kid...and always had it around when I was over at his house.

I remember it had a very unusual cola flavor to it, if I recall correctly. Hard to describe.

Back in the 70's I had no choice but to drink TAB.
Looking back I should have turned in my Mom for child abuse. LOL
We use to get those eight pack returnable bottles. We drank
about one eight pack a day.

TAB tasted like diluted carbonated tar. LOL
I attempted to drink a can of TAB about 10 years ago.
I got about a table spoon down before I had to visit the
    porcelain goddess. LOL

    Cool

they still sell TaB in NYC... in six pack cans. i picked some up a few years ago because i was curious what it tasted like. the initial flavor wasn't bad... but the aftertaste was harsh... kind of metallic (i think it was the saccharin).

anyway... i actually think there's a niche market for TaB... IF it was reformulated with an aspartame/ace-k blend. they might be able to tap into the nostalgia market of "women of a certain age"... or maybe try to reintroduce it to a new generation.

Smile It's still around in places

I've seen Tab fridgepacks in several stores in central NC. It's still made with saccharin, too.

Mabe they need to make a version with better sweeteners -- they could call it Tab Zero....

i agree. the saccharin needs to go. with a better sweetener, there might actually be a market niche for TaB.

of course, coke probably doesn't want it to steal sales from diet coke. but... if it's stealing sales from diet coke, then it'd also be stealing them from diet pepsi... which would be a win for coke in the end.

99cent only stores still sell tab. A 6pak for like 99cents.
