I saw Diet Lemon and the new Diet Wild Cherry look in 12-packs today. When I first spotted the Lemon, I was wondering what the heck it was - the yellow/silver reminded me of Diet Coke w/ Splenda a little. I think the gradient backgrounds make these look a little less dull than regular Diet Pepsi, but I agree that the change for Vanilla is too subtle. Has anybody seen the new look for regular Wild Cherry Pepsi?
Now, those Throwback bottles look excellent... much better than just the old logos with "Throwback" written below in that Century Gothic-like font. And of course I'm sure the product inside will be great as well.

I just wish it was in a bottle that was more of a "throwback" design...they could have made a plastic version of the "swirl" bottle from the 70's if they tried. Pepsi's generic 20-oz bottle is rather boring.
Though I can't tell the difference between soda sweetened w/sugar and that w/HFCS, I do want to try it!Drink responsibly....drink soda!

Hey guys... I just got off the phone with a PR rep from Pepsi. I sent them an e-mail with some questions I had about the Throwback drinks (along with questions that I had seen posted on BevReview). They were nice enough to give me a call back and shoot some info my way.
The big takeaway is that the cool retro design that Pepsi_Man posted doesn't seem to be the final, per the folks I talked to at Pepsi North America. Instead, they are using the older designs discovered in the trademark filings. (They sent me images of the bottles and cans... view here)
Some other facts they provided to my Q&A:
- Available in 20-oz. plastic bottles & 12-pack cans. Sorry, no glass!
- Official release date is April 20, then available for 8 weeks
- Sweetened with a MIX of cane sugar & beet sugar
- NOT the same formula as Kosher Pepsi. Throwback is NOT Kosher
- Per Pepsi: "These products were not created because of any health concerns re: HFCS."
- "As we 'refresh everything', we want to give nod to fun things of the past"
I did a full breakdown of the Q&A with full quotes and explanations here:
Official Facts about Pepsi Throwback & Mountain Dew Throwback
I'm really bummed about the design news, personally.Last edited by Tannerman; 02-26-2009 at 08:02 PM.

Those designs aren't bad, but they don't stand out or fit with the "Throwback" feel as much as the ones previously posted. I wonder if those other bottles were from before Arnell came in and messed everything up.
