Default Diet Mtn Dew White Flash / Diet Mtn Dew Ultra Violet

I came across the following while poking around USPTO the other day:

We've all seen stuff like this before, but what caught my eye was the recent activity:

Diet Mtn Dew White Flash
Filing Date: December 2, 2008
Published for Opposition: February 24, 2009

Diet Mtn Dew Ultra Violet
Filing Date: December 2, 2008
Published for Opposition: March 3, 2009

Anyone know anything about these titles?

yeah. those are interesting names. i'm surprised they're applied to "diet" though. does Mtn Dew usually make diet versions of it's flavor extensions?

Diet Code Red is the only one currently available. The only thing I can think of is the Pepsi saw the growth in the Diet Mountain Dew brand and perhaps they are targeting that a bit more directly with some special Diet flavors. Other than that, no clue.

good point. diet mtn dew has been in the top ten soda list for a couple years now. makes sense they'd invest in it.

The folks at the 'mothership' BevNet picked up the Diet Dew story and did a little more exploring on trademarks

As an exclusive Dt MT dew drinker, this would be great news. I still long for live wire in diet.

Actually seen something from a certain large drug store chain (that will remain nameless since it was C onfidential info and i do not need to V i S it the boss about it)
that was sending back their authorization letters for it to be in all stores. I could not tell you a time frame exactly but the paperwork had all of the upcoming ad activity thru halloween. I would think that this could be a signal that it will be soon, I may be wrong, who knows, I am just a poor dumb pop man.
