I don't see how there would be a Dr Pepper Throwback, considering Dr Pepper isn't a Pepsico product. However there have been rumors here back like 2-3 years ago that Pepper would try a cane-sugar limited edition at some point. I don't think it went past test-markets though.
Now as for Pepsi, saw a mention of the next Throwback in my Pepsi Cola Collector's Club newsletter the other day, and looks like they will be using the white-background/70's-80's square-E logo for Pepsi this time around on the cans.

The glass-bottled Dr Pepper produced in West Jefferson, NC is made with cane sugar. I guess you could consider that "Throwback."

I'm pretty sure that there will indeed be a Dr. Pepper "throwback" type beverage coming out about the same time as the Dew/Pepsi Throwback. I believe it's called Dr. Pepper Heritage.

If what you did yesterday still looks big, you haven't done much today.

That's kind of a long time for a test market. That's just Temple Pepper right? I'm thinking they got extended distribution on that variant due to regional popularity.

Yes it is just temple pepper. I was just trying to get to zabe about it and it worked. haha
temple pepper is available about 20 minutes south of where I live so about once a month I shoot down there and pick up a case or so. there really isn't a whole lot of difference in taste but you can taste the difference. There was the limited release of the 16 oz "doc" cans a year or so ago that went away pretty quick. If what you did yesterday still looks big, you haven't done much today.

Down here in Houston we have Dr. Pepper with real cane sugar all over the place. It's a great thing.
