Default Monster Energy vs. BevReview

Hey guys... so over the past 2 weeks, I've been getting some threatening e-mails from a law firm associated with Monster Energy and Hansen's. The complaint was a review I wrote for BevReview.com back in March 2007 that they claimed infringed on intellectual property.

I documented the situation here... and it looks like Consumerist.com has picked up on the story.

Can't we all just drink a Pepsi Throwback and be friends?

- Steve

Sounds pretty dumb to me. Hansen is going to waste a ton of money if they go after every bad review. Maybe you'll get some good exposure out of this that will help turn the tide.

Best of luck.

I'm sorry to hear Hansen's is trying to bully you, Steve.
Count me as an ex-consumer of Hansen's products.

Devil's advocate - is Hansen to blame here, or is it the law firm? I'd suggest Steve get in contact with Hansen, maybe starting with the person he was in contact with who sent him the samples.. or if all else fails, go to Rodney Sacks himself. And see if they are aware of what the law firm is doing. The firm may have not have to have notified Hansen's of their actions.. until they to file an actual lawsuit.

I think they're just blowing a lot of smoke up his ass right now, trying to scare him into folding. Until an actual C&D is sent to him, it's just hot air.
