At the urging of Mrs. Treetoptom, a longtime drinker of Dew since the 60s, we did a blind taste test between the original MD Throwback and the new MD Throwback:
In pouring the two samples out, the difference in clarity was striking, with the new formula being much cloudier than the older throwback formula (not as noticeable in the photo as in person). The inclusion of OJ concentrate?
The taste was different, and here is where the Mrs. and I parted company. She preferred the "old Throwback" formula, whereas I preferred the new formula. The old formula had a stronger flavor which I found more artificial while the new formula was more natural tasting. Mrs. Treetoptom pronounced the old formula more authentic to the original. I couldn't really register an opinion as to which was more authentic, as I rarely drank/drink Dew.
