Again? I suppose this can't be any worse than the formula they have now. This actually sounds a lot like the description used for the formula prior to the current one when it was introduced.

Although I didn't think that version was bad (certainly better than the current one), I wish they would just bring back the 1950-97 formula. I think they've only damaged the brand by incessantly reformulating the product.

well I did not mind the previous formula compared to the current formula they have now. But I agree, 7-Up has been reformulated so many times that it is really not a big deal anymore.

Also wanted to mention that after 7-up reformulated to "Natural flavors" Sprite starting placing the word "natural" on their packaging.

I wish they would just go back to the old formula.

I will still always laugh at the trouble 7Up got into with their "natural" claims. I mean, who can forget the subtle packaging changes from 2006 to 2007:

Swapping the HFCS for real sugar would have been an easy solution to that problem.

I wonder if Polar Beverages/Gosling's Rum will get into the same trouble as 7UP since they are claiming their Gosling's Stormy Ginger Beer to be "All Natural" even though HFCS is being used.

Just thought I'd add some thoughts. I'm normally very eager to see HFCS swapped out for sugar (and that's what they misleadingly imply by "all natural"). But I did taste some 7-Up in bottles made with sugar and it tasted very strange and had an aftertaste like beer. No idea what formula that was, but it's the only one that I've had that tasted worse than the HFCS version.

I always felt like the current formulation of 7 Up had a weird bitter aftertaste, and I've only tasted it with HFCS. So it's probably the formula that's the issue, not the sweetener.
