So, I was filling a vending machine a couple weeks ago, and buried down by the compressor was an old Squirt can. I've been with Pepsi 7 years and I haven't seen one like this. Its got Julian dating on the bottom, and not even the "old-school" guys at work can read it. The code is:
H242B11707

I know its not some epic find that's worth anything, but I'm just curious as to what year it was made (this was a VERY old vendor may I add). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I think it was produced on the 42nd day of a year ending in 2 (1992,2002)??? on line 1, plant "B", at 17:07 miltary time. I could be wrong. DPSG still uses a code similar to this. Not sure what the "H" is for. Hope this helps.

Thanks Mofizz. Judging by the look of the can, I'd go with 1992. It is more squared than the newer cans are.

I believe the H is the year and 242 is the date which would make it August 30, 1987 or 1997 or 2007. Line 1, Plant B at 5:07pm

What is the copyright year on the can?

Who canned it? Should say near the ingredients list. Unfortunately, a lot of Pepsi cans just say "Independent Bottlers under the authority of PepsiCo."

The can is still in the cab of my route truck. I'll get it next week and snap a few shots. If I recall, the can said it was canned under the authority of Squirtco. I tried to find that company online, but I couldn't find much information.
