I really don't mean to get off on a rant here, but I must tell my story about Energy 69. When I first heard of this drink, I was intrigued. Great website as well. Awesome name, one of the best names out there, I think. Then I got into distribution arrangements. It was purty darn expensive. I wound up not buying it at that point.
So, I finally seen it in a small store. After a conversation with the guy, he told me that the distributor dropped off product, never to return. He also told me in the 3 months he had it, he sold a total of 1, count em 1, can.
He gave me a can, free of charge, after I gave him a can of my stuff. It tasted like gasoline. I'm not saying it to be mean, I'm saying it because it's true. What do you guys think of this drink?

I would just say anyone who thought it was a cool name is a moron...and of course it didnt sell. Only beavis and butthead would be walking down the street drinking a can of that. Good god, cmon man, get a grip..make sure to stash your porn mags too.

JP, I dont think you have to worry about them any more. They've been disappearing from the selves lately. I actually did some research on the company, great guys but the product has spotty sell through. My guess is that their distributors are losing interest.

let me correct that, Iam only referring to NY. They may do very well in all other areas.

It's all over NYC. It doesn't sell very well. Stores price it at $1.99 and put it next to Red Bull, so it doesn't sell. Since stores bought deals like buy 5 cases get 5 cases free they are stuck with it, unless they unload it for $1 a can. I think the distributor will dump it and pick up some other cheap brand.

Rubner, If you are in vending you should be able to get any of the major brands to sell in your machines. Red Bull probably won't cut you a price break, but some of the other major energy players would probably give you a nice price break if you buy enough cases and tell the how many vending machines their product will be in. Most importantly don't risk buying a no name energy drink like energy 69 and try selling it in a vending machine.

Well.... yes I am biased but if you want an alternative to 69 that has proven sell through and has been around since 2001 may I suggest SumPoosie Energy Drink. The taste is great and it is now in a 16 ounce can. You can check us out at the Bar and Beverage Show March 7th and 8th. Its easy to find our booth just follow the crowd !

This kind of sounds familiar....has Drayton had a plumbing change and morphed into TTB?
