I have seen a few articles similar to this when within the last week. Seems like the spotlight is E drinks lately.

There has been a pickup in negative articles about the category lately. In my opinion this is a direct result of the launch of Cocaine Energy Drink which was highly publicized.

Even more of a concern is that I read an article yesterday that said they are planing FDA hearings in DC to discuss Energy Drinks.

Some idiot takes it too far and the parent groups get all upset and then WATCH OUT! the government can step in a ruin the party for everyone. The whole thing is very reminicent of the whole Janet Jackson/super bowl fiasco.


Thanks Cocaine for giving the whole industry a black eye and even worse potential government regulation. IDIOTS!

This is how it started out in the Sports Nutrition industry with Ephedra and Andro products.
The Result is a bunch of cogar smoking alcohol drinking Congressman making decesions about how to live your physiological life. Meanwhile they continue to eat high fat meals, smoke cigars, drink alcohol, and become a burden to the tax payers by abusing their priviledge of tax payer funded health care because of their poor health and sedentary lifestyle........sorry , got carried away on that one.

Seriously though, The reports of people dying from Ephedra always said the user was overdosing on it but continued to blame the product not the individual. The mindset of "if 2 is good then 4 must be better" is not always true.

About 7 years ago ctity of Portland or the State of Oregon, were looking at Energy Drinks because they said they were getting around the Law, something about being categorized more like a Tea than a carbonated Beverage(I know manny E Drinks R not carbonated)and getting around the additive limits (IE Caffeine), there was a real scare amongst E Drink consumers in Oregon 4 a while.

Coke, Pepsi and Hansen' will calm down the FDA. Similar to the benzene issue in water and soft drinks. This is the one time, when I am glad those guys are in the business of EDs
