My first reaction to the story was: "What a dumbass!"

It's sad he died, but good god... what sane person drinks that much alcohol that quickly?

A standard shot glass is 1.5 ounces. That means he drank 34.5 ounces of liquid. Assuming the mix was half vodka/half red bull (for the sake of argument) that's 17.25 ounces of vodka. That's roughly 510ml of vodka, or about 2/3 of a standard bottle of vodka in 30 minutes.

People who drink like that have death wishes or are just incredibly stupid...

I have heard that both AB and SAB Miller are considering pulling Their Alcohol / E drinks from the market. This comes after AB settled with the AG of a number of states that claimed the beverages were targeting minors. I think you and I both feel the same way about alcohol and energy drinks. They are not a good mix.
My point in this post was to see if the media would attack the energy drink sector as part of the reason for the guys death instead of his overindulgence of alcohol.
