I took a trip to Galco's and asked the owner about getting bottled Mountain Dew with cane sugar, presumably from Mexico. He said he didn't think it was bottled in Mexico (I haven't seen it recently), but that the U.S. bottler he gets his supply from does have cane sugar. The bottles he did have were bottled at the facility mentioned in the subject title. I'd hate to distrust the guy, but I'm a bit of a pessimist and wonder if the guy might've just been giving me some sales schtick.

Anyone know for sure if that facility is known for producing their sodas with cane sugar, or is it just known for being a facility that caters more to bottled sodas?

DR Pepper in West Jefferson does currently use cane sugar in its products. They do not specificly advertise that way, but with the new labeling law in effect they soon will be labeling their products that way.

Why would you not advertise it? Cane Sugar DR Pepper is the best!

They use regular trademark bottles which contain the and/or sweetner labeling terms.

That's not a smart idea. They should have on the bottle of Dr Pepper saying "Made with REAL Cane Sugar"

I agree wholeheartedly. The and/or labelling is aggravating, especially the Mexican sodas labelled as such on those haphazaradly-stuck-on generic labels once they enter the country. You're paying more money under the impression you're getting the real deal, but there's that nagging doubt with the "or" on there. But I know now to not even pay any attention to them anymore.

bigrich-- Thanks for the reply. So should I assume then that *all* of the non-diet sodas bottled at the West Jefferson facility will have cane sugar? If so, you've saved me a good chunk of money on 7-UP by not buying Mexican.

The RC, 7-UP and Dr Pepper I have bought from that bottler are made with cane sugar. As for Mt Dew I don't drink enough to know the difference but I would assume it is made with cane sugar.
