Take some time in your day to think of your fellow American's in Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, And Louisiana. The damage of this devistating Hurricane is horrifing. Thousands of homes have been destroyed. New Orleans is heavily damaged (Right now, 80% of this great city is currently under water, and the water is still rising) And I have heard most of the coast city of Gulfport, MS has been destored. Luckily most people evacuated before the Hurricain hit. But, Keep the hundreds of people who have died in your prayers.

In connection with this & beverages, it sounds like they can use ALL the bottled water they can get in that region.

I remember that ad from one beer maker a few years ago where they would bottle water & distribute it in an emergency.

Thanks Mellow Yellow Lover for starting this thread. My heart truly aches watching the devastation and life and death heartship those people are going Thur. My thought and prayers for all the people suffering.

I heard that Anheuser Bush loaded up an initial shipment of 60,000 cases of water for the victims and relief effort. I would imagine other like companies are sending truck loads of supplies as well.

My inetial death toll of hundreds may be wrong. The Mayor of New Orleans has said that the death toll in his city may be thousands. This is sad.

I heard the same thing this evening.
In my small way, I will find some way to help or donate some money. We as a country and in communities will need to step up and get involved.

I sound preachy this evening,I'm just so sad and distraught about this. We are talking about people like you and I. For the grace of G-d it could be one of us suffering or one our beloved family members.

Amen my beverage brothers. It's time to roll up our collective sleeves and do whatever we can to assist.

I am confident that this great nation of ours will rise where it has fallen. There are true heros out there fellas, true heros.

I remember in 1972 after Hurricane Agnes flooded my part of NY the Genesee Brewery in Rochester sent pallets of water bottled in Genesee's brown beer bottles. I also remember seeing a photo of cans of water from brewer but the cans were white with the word water in large black letters.
One of the cable news networks reported some bottled water companies have pallets of water ready to send to the gulf area but they are not wanted at this time and that cash would be better.
