I was wondering if any of you knew where I could buy Henry Weinhard and/or Thomas Kemper root beer in New York city (more specifically in downtown Manhattan. ) I've been looking everywhere but I just can't find them. Thanks very much!

AFAIK, they aren't widely distributed on NYC. You may be able to find them at some sort of gourmet or specialty store. But Kemper is a Western US brand.

A thought -- you may be able to find Kemper on tap @ Red Robin. There's one in Clifton NJ (I used to live in Clifton). It's on Route 3, apparently in the same shopping center as the Super Stop and Shop -- at Kingsland Road and Route 3. Route 3 eventually runs you right into the Lincoln tunnel (going eastbound).

Henry Weinhardt I also suspect is a Western US product. Hey, we didn't see much of Mad River until Coke bought them.

I am so happy that Pitch BLack came back out. I have some of the original still, but part 2 is better. I can't drink enough. I was drinking a lot of Vault until it came out.
I never really tried the Holiday spice, but I drank enought to know I didn't really like it. I imagine it is what a Christmas tree would taste like.

Well, Fanta used to have a Spruce Beer that it sold in Canada around Christmas. Yes, spruce flavor.

I heard Fanta still made Birch Beer for some places in the eastern US. Fanta Spruce Beer was a Holiday item in Canada, but it's gone now.

    I've never had either one.

Henry Weinhards is was a blitzweinhard product....that brewery closed down, and was bought buy miller and bottles in Tumwater washington. It has since been brought back to Oregon, and is bottled by the Full Sail brewing company in Hood river oregon. I have no idea about the Thomas Kemper brands of Soft drinks, but you can buy both at any store in Oregon. An sorry about all the bad grammar/mispells.

Fanta Birch Beer has been spotted in various fountain locations in Maryland and Pennsylvania -- most commonly at the Roy Rogers core restaurant locations in and around Frederick MD.
