What do you feel very passionate about either from your work experiences, family or hobbies (soda pop freak LOL)?

I can say that supporting yourself and family are always the most important thing. Finding a job that pleases you, that keeps you motivated are the key. I can't advise you as to which area to focus on only becasue I do not know you that well but ask around your circle of friends and associates for feedback.

As a college student in the middle of career talk and constantly searching for options, I can tell you that it's worth investing in getting educated with computers, if you haven't already.

Jobs that require computer skills about double every 5 years or so. It's the fastest growing job sector.

i have alot of computer skills, been on computers extensively since a child, reverse engineered some software when I was like 12 and got into trouble with some lawyers for a software company luckily nothing happened.

i have a good business degree from a good college, just not sure what i'd like to get into.. i have friends doing consulting.. mortgage stuff... day trading... etc..

mortgage business seems to have been making a killing the last couple years, but that will obviously be coming down a bit this year.. but still good money... day trading isnt for me.. i'd love to get into consulting but big firms seem to be a "gotta known someone" to get in type deal and I am certainly too young to start my own consulting firm.

IMO I would investigate if a local or regional company such as Swabb,Price Water House or any medium to large investment firm is located near where you live. It's likely that they would have a training/employment program.

Your education and job experience and well written resume would probably get your foot in the door for free training.

Most companies look at your background and job experiences. You computer skills are almost like a Monopoly Pass Go and Collect Two Hundred Dollars card. LOL They tend to hire people that have good skills and can be trained to their systems eaily.

Don't count yourself out, send resumes and working with a head hunter who specializes in your desired field. This can be a big help in coaching you and giving you the current outlook for jobs.

    Good Luck

thanks for the advice zabe.. i appreciate it.

am really confused as to what i want to get into.. i know whatever i end up doing, i will put tons of energy into and really kick my ass doing the best job possible.. so i really want to plan out and prepare and look at all the possibilities first.

i studied entrepreneurship, so my ultimate job would be working for a startup or smaller company, and helping them grow, its just hard to find opportunities like that unfortunately.. i'd work my butt off for a new company too, but it seems either a new company has no money, or they are hard to find and get your resume/cover letter to.
