I like it better than I thought I would.
I have had several cans now so I think I am qualified to say that calling it a "Vanilla Float" is a bit extreme. It is more of a "Hint of Vanilla". Having said that it isn't bad, the vanilla flavor is there, but it doesn't rise to a float level strong vanilla ice cream flavor.
I finally found some yesterday and just minutes ago, I popped open a can for the first time. It's not bad. I didn't really know what to expect. I like it much better than the newly released Baja Blast MD.
I like it. But cherry will keep me from buying this often.
I haven't gotten to try it yet, but I only saw it for the first time in the store yesterday.
They should add this as an option on Coke Freestyle machines - they already have vanilla flavoring, and cherry vanilla is an option on machines with Dr Pepper (and Pibb).
I've only seen this in 2 Liter so far. I'm waiting to find it in cans or 20 oz bottles.
On another note it seems like a lot of LTO sodas are coming out this summer, the complete opposite of last summer. Sprite 6 Mix, MD Baja Blast in cans/bottles, MD Solar Flare on tap at 7-11, 7up Tropical, real sugar Pepsi Wild Cherry and Vanilla, and DP Vanilla Float.
I don't think there are plans for 20oz.
I found some 2 liters at Homeland Stores. I think it is good. I can taste some vanilla in it.
Dr Pepper Vanilla Float is being sold at Taco Bell as one of their Freezes (TB's version of a Slurpee)
I was just about to post that! I saw two commercials for the frozen version on late night tv last night. Taco Bell does Happier Hour from 2pm-5pm - $1 loaded grillers and $1 medium drinks. I'd try a frozen vanilla Dr Pepper for $1.
