I am looking into starting a beverage company. I have been in business ventures for many years and I am very successful. However, I have no experience in the beverage industry. I have a few questions...if anyone can help me. Thank you.
First off, what is the best way to distribute beverage products? Distribution companies? Also, how much does it usually cost? What percentage do distributors like to make? Lets say I'm selling an energy drink in a 8.4 oz can. I know redbull sells it to stores for around $1.33 a can. If I wanted my drink to sell for $1.00-$1.15 a can. How much would I sell it to distributors for? $0.85-$0.90/can?
Also, I have a question about production cost. I have a company that will do everything thing as far as making and printing/packaging my drinks. But, if I buy a container of 86,400 cans...the price will be around $0.65 each...The lowest it might go to would be $0.50 each with multiple containers. Is this to high? Can I get this done cheaper in the US? What's the average cost to manufacture and label a 8.4oz energy drink inside the US. I would be ordering quantities of at least 86,400 but most likely 300,000+ cans a month minimum to start with. What should I pay per can?
Thank you for any help you can provide!
