They were doing longneck, but as of Oct 2003 they couldn't find a bottle Manufacturer (according to the representative I spoke with in a telephone conversation.) I did (thru many email and telephone petitions) manage to get it into my Local ACME Supermarket in Cape May Court House, NJ.

They even carried the longnecks until they became unavailable. They were costly, but worth it.

I’d mentioned on another thread that I've seen Hires at the Beer Zoo located off US 322, near Harrisburg, PA. Sold in 6-packs. And they've got all the Moxie you might want, too!

You can find Hires in 20oz in the I-77/I-85 area near Charlotte NC. It’s bottled by Independent Beverage and distributed by Sundrop of Concord. It’s not particularly easy to find but it is out there.

If anyone is still interested in finding Hires root beer, we found it in Lancaster, PA yesterday. We have been trying to find it in PA or NJ for years. The place is called Kirchner, Inc Wholesale Beverage Distributors. They are located at 2740 Charlestown Road in Lancaster, PA. You can reach them at (717) 782-1400 or 1-800-344-2337.

We picked up 8 cases of 20-ounce bottles and a case of 2-liter Hires. They charged us the same price that they charge the stores. Great deal!

speaking of Hires ... does anyone know if diet Hires is still around? I was in Pittsburgh last weekend and didn't see it, looked at Giant Eagle and some of the better beer/pop stores like Save-Mor.
