Hello all, can anyone tell me the taste difference between sugar and hfcs? What sodas are made from sugar? I would like to see the difference for myself.
Thanks,
D

Coke from south of the border USUALLY has sugar. Coke in the U.S. has HFCS.
Drink one of each and compare.

You can get Dr. Brown's Cream with sugar at Passover time (look for the "Kp" on the bottle cap).
We have a local soda here, Foxon Park (which Bevnet reviewed), which is made with sugar.

kiss, now that you mentioned it, I do remember "Mexican" Coke from the lunch truck to be much more appetizing than anything from my old jobs vending machines.

I bought some Mexican coke the other day and it didn't list Sugar Cane as an ingredient, so I am not sure if all of it is that way. I know that the Coke I drank in Honduras still had sugar cane in it though.Originally posted by Dizz:

Foxon Park sells lots of flavors. Cola is included. Also some weird ones, like Iron Brew and Gassosa.

I'd like to see any pointers to studies about cane/beet sugar -vs- HFCS and its effect on the body - some are saying "sugar is sugar - no difference" while some are maintaining that our body metabolizes HFCS differently, perhaps resulting in easier weight gain than with the old "plain sugar" sweetened products.
