Yesterday I read an article in the spanish edition of the Wall Street Journal that says that Coca-Cola will make a new version of the popular 70's "Hilltop" commercial called "Chilltop" to promote the new Coca-Cola zero (because of the "Everybody Chill" slogan), but instead of an italian hill, will be at the roof of a building in Philadelphia, and the stars of the ad will be a group of young people (I don't know if they're gonna be from different countries like the 70's ad) leaded by a star called G. Love. And of course the lyrics of the song: "I'd like to buy the world a Coke" are modified. The ad will be released on June 27

I agree with the opinion of the WSJ Americas that says that this commercial would be seen negative for those who loved the "Hilltop" commercial, and that the young people in the U.S. might not understand the new ad because most of them never saw the original "hilltop" ad.

For me, this ad will be the "New Coke" of the Coca-Cola ads.

    What do you think guys?

I think they need to run the old hilltop ad again. I remember that as a kid.. what a great ad.

Personally I think it's cool that they're doing an updated homage to that commercial. And anything promoting Coke Zero can't be too bad.

I take back of this statement, I saw the advertisement in www.cocacolazero.com and it's great, the advertising agency who made it knew perfectly how to adapt the "Hilltop" commercial to appeal the young people. And how they adapt the scene to the slogan: "Everybody Chill", and you can see all the people in the commercial of course chilling out, It's Cool!

For those who didn't saw the "Chilltop" commercial go to www.cocacolazero.com, and also there's the "Hilltop" commercial for those who never saw it before, or if you want to make a comparison of both versions.
