You can always get Cherry colas, cherry lemon limes, cherries and creme and blackcherry in nearly every brand possible. However plain cherry soda is hard to find. The ones I've tried are as follows.

Cherikee Red... Decent cherry flavor, overall not bad.

Kentucky Nip... Not crazy about this one. Leaves a strange aftertaste.

Cheerwine... Great drink but I don't consider it to be a true cherry soda.

Jones Cherry Soda... Super concentrated maraschino cherry soda. First half of the bottle is heaven for cherry-addicts but it's so sweet that the 2nd half of the bottle is hard to drink. Kind of like cheesecake, great at first but it's so rich you don't often want seconds! Might be better over ice.

Cherry Crush... Quite dissappointing. Really nothing special about it. Tastes just like cherry slurpees from 7-11s. It's not a bad drink but in my opinion doesn't measure up to some of Crush's other great flavors.

Regent Cherry... Overall the best I've had. I found two 16 oz. bottles of this in a Big Lots store in Modesto, Ca. a few years back. (Only 2 I've ever found) Great maraschino cherry taste but not overly sweet like Jones.

Has anyone else had a cherry soda that I didn't list? If so how was it?

Had Fanta Wild Cherry and Crass cherry, both in premix from Central Coke. Both very good.

An Indian Casino outside of OKC has Minute Maid Cherry. It's pretty good in small doses. (Also not too bad mixed with Dr. Pepper.)

Stewart's Old Fashioned Cherries N' Cream. I had it maybe a few years ago and it was very good.

I've also had MM Cherry in fountain at a Zaxby's in Georgia. I thought it was quite good.

Rock Creek Cherry Smash. Another very limited distribution brand. Distributed by Canada Dry Potomac, Springfield, VA.

I'm not sure what chain of stores it's made for, but I have a Lotsa Red Cherry that I picked up in a Big Lots. It was pretty good.

I don't know cherry drinks are hard to find. Most of the ones that I've tried are like drinking marachino cherry syrup. My favorite so far is Hank's Wishniak Black Cherry. It's easily the best tasting one around as far as black cherry sodas are concerned.

I tried Faygo Red Pop one time and couldn't finish it. It tasted like cough syrup, and not the good kind either.

Lotsas are produced by Metro Bottlers in Columbus, OH. They distribute to small retail operations. Metro used to have the Big Red & RC/Nehi franchise rights for parts of Indiana & Ohio. They do not distibute Big Red in Indiana anymore. I am not sure if the still distribute Big Red & RC/Nehi in parts of Ohio.

Cheerwine reminds me of the strong "Cherry Cider" once found a raodside stands in Southern California.
Why are most cherry drinks the black cherry type?
