As most of you probably know Subway is switching to Coke products. And The ones here in my part of Pennsylvania now have Mello Yello. So do you think this will be a national thing? I hope.

Subway's choice on soda fountains depends on the franchisee, rather than on a national level. (i.e., I own Subway x, someone else owns Subway y and Subway z. I put Coke in Subway x cos I love it, but it is more costly. Subway y and Subway z have Pepsi for monetary reasons).

At least I think that's the deal.

That's the way it used to be, but Coke signed an exclusive deal with corporate Subway, and all the franchisees have to switch over by a certain time. The same thing happened with Wendy's a few years back.

Part of the Coke/Subway deal was that Coke paid for a "toaster" and the electrician to wire and install the outlet for it, so Subway could launch a new line of toasted subs (they are mediocre, at best). In response, Quiznos switched to Pepsi, because they didn't want to play second fiddle.

The Quiznos around me have switched. They have a Pepsi fountain, and Sobe, Pepsi CSD 20oz, Lipton 16oz, and Aquafina in the cold case. No more Coke, Dasani and Snapple.

Does this mean that the toasters, as well as the Coke machines come synonymously?

Some here still have Pepsi. I don't eat at Subway, but I've been tempted to try their toasted subs. Up here, I can either get them from Sheetz, local places, or even Martin's. Subway's just blech, and we're not cool enough for a Quizno's.

The Quizno's here in south Texas still carry Coke products. Even if they do eventually switch though they will still carry Dr Pepper, which is all I care about.

They don't come synonymously. A separate company delivers the toasters, even though Coke paid for them. The local bottler delivers and installs the fountain and any additional cold drink equipment -- most locations have a single door cooler or a double door cooler.

A franchise in VA still has Pepsi for Wendy's. Around Harrisonburg. Otherwise they're all Coke here, AFAIK. I don't eat at Wendy's much, I prefer BK and McDonald's to them.

Subways have one optional flavor on their fountain and most stores are tapping on Dr Pepper. If i were an owner thats what i would do.
