I've tried it twice. The first time was out of a 2liter bottled by American... a poor bottler. I didn't like it very much, didn't even taste like RC to me. The second time was out of a 20oz plastic bottle I bought in Arizona. Again I didn't like it, didn't even finish the bottle. I'm sticking to Diet Pepsi if I want a diet cola.

I drink it all the time, hansens diet soda is great also, by the way, neither as aspartame so you won't have to worry about headaches or a brain tumor

If I ever come across it in cans I'll try it again. I'm hoping the plastic (ack) 2L and 20oz that I had were out of date or mixed poorly.

So is Diet RC supposed to taste like RC, like the way Diet Pepsi and Diet Dr Pepper are reasonable facsimilies of their originals? Or is it like Diet Coke, a completely different taste from the original??

I don't think any of the diet colas taste like the original, but you get used to them. The Splenda in diet RC is a different chemical taste from other sweeteners. They all seem barfy at first (as did regular and diet Pepsi to me), but one gets used to them. I haven't had much diet RC, so still think the taste is rather "chemical". Maybe it was invented by "Chemical Ali".

To follow up - diet Dr. Pepper is close to the original, and diet Hires is almost identical.

Sorry, not Hires - Diet A&W is the good one!
