    Aluminum Land

I E-Mailed grapette and asked them about the Orangette and Grapette that has been turning up at Wal-mart lately. At first I thought this was Sams Choice stuff with a new name. Aparently I was wrong. They tell me it is the real thing using the real formula. Could this be a new trend for Wal-mart. Licensing the right to use old soda names to give to their line of sodas? Or replacing their generic sodas with old names like this?

Grapette International stopped direct bottling themselves and have opted for a nationwide rollout by selling the syrup to Wal-Mart for them to go into production with it. According to a company rep I spoke with two weeks ago there will be no more Grapette in bottles as Wal-Mart will be selling it in cans and either 2 or 3 liter bottles.

As for a trend starting with Wal-Mart, Grapette International is located in Arkansas, not too far from Wal-Mart's HQ, so proximity could have something to do with this particular deal.
