I know that some professional sports stadiums sell beer in these bottles. They are easier to vend (no cup is needed) and relatively safe in case the fans get angry if you know what I mean. The bottles are thinner than the current plastic bottles.

My guess is that these types of bottles are just starting to catch on for the retail soda pop market.

Those bottles have been in the San Antonio and south Texas market for the better part of six months now. I don't care for A&W Creme Soda much, but the root beer is great.

We've had em for about a month and a half at least. They feel somewhat more substantial in your hands than a normal 20ox. bottle. The root beer bottles are also colored a deep brown in case you can't tell from that pic.

Stating the obvious. That would be due to the neck being a touch longer and the body being a touch wider? I have not seen one myself but it does seem more pleasing to feel a more traditional "beer" like bottle.

It must be from sucking back brewskies like a mad man in my collegiate days. LOL
