My absolute favorite drink is Ale-8-One but I don't seem to be able to currently handle any caffeine. Is there a ginger ale that tastes VERY similar?

I think that the taste of Ale-8-1 is partly due to the caffeine. It really doesn't taste all that different than the mainstream ales, if i remember correctly.

Vernors and Northern Neck have flavors that definately aren't mainstream.. but they can be pretty hard to find in many areas. Other options might be Sprecher, Bundaberg, Carver's (not sure if that is even made anymore), Boylan's, and so on.

    I loved Ale-8 b/c it wasn't too gingery/spicy, more fruity. That's what I'm looking for in a ginger ale-and the reason I hate Schweppes and C/D

I'm not much of a ginger ale guy myself. I've only ever had Canada Dry and some generics. I know where to get Vernor's and Northern Neck, so I might have to try them sometime.
