All Pepsi 24ct Cubes have been pulled from Jewel Food stores. There was one Jewel store where a few dozen customers complained that there was a strong chlorine gas smell from their Pepsi Cubes.

The local news stations have been covering this story on their news updates. I wish they would give out the use by date.

Does anybody died with just smelling the Pepsi Cubes? I hope not...

Thank goodness no one was hurt or worse yet died.
There is a slight scare about Pepsi cubes as the TV morning news keeps it as one of their top stories.

    Update from this mornings news.
The Pepsi was born on 2/8/06 at the 51st Street Pepsi plant in Chicago.

A local FOX news report showed a can being poured into a glass. The Pepsi soda pop was light brown(very close to looking like ginger ale).

Most loyal Pepsi drinkers knew right away that it way no good. Some teenager guzzled a few cans of it and got very sick. Actually his whole family got sick but this kid was very sick. They showed him barfing his way to the hospital.(Not too funny.)

Jewel food stores has pulled all Pepsi cubes and is replacing them with new supplies or store refunds.

    What a mess.

I have no real knowledge of the exact details how the actual "canning machines" are cleaned. My guess is that somehow the production line was being cleaned down and a production run was started in error causing cleaning chemicals to be mixed with Pepsi.

Does this seem like a plausible cause?
