While looking around an antique store over the weekend, I came across a "Mint Cola" bottle that was dated "79" and labeled "A blend of cola, mint, and citrus flavors." The bottle was of the same style that the folks at Carolina Beverage used for Cool Moon and Caravan Dry Ginger Ale in the 1970s.

I did read that Cheerwine was created as a derivative of a "Mint Cola" that was produced in Salisbury, NC during the early 1900s. Did the makers of Cheerwine bring back Mint Cola at some point in the late 1970s?

I don't recall Mint Cola being produced in the 70's. I know the kind of bottle you're talking about and it does sound like a 70's vintage Cheerwine brand.

The cola brand I remember them producing was Carolina Cola, I bought this one maybe in the mid/late 80's.
