Is buying American that important?

Outside of this board I have found people to be very appreciative that all my products are American made. Even the energy drink I sell SumPoosie is made in America. That means something to me and I am kind of shocked it doesn't mean more to others on this board. Being manufactured in America is a withering breed. Is it so wrong to be proud to manufactured in the USA!
