I have searched high and low for the "bitter" variation of San Pellegrino's orange soda here in the U.S., and have come up dry. I find the regular Aranciata all over Chicago, but I can't find the Aranciata Amara here or anywhere else, or by mail order.

Does anyone know of a U.S. source? Thanks!

There's a grocery store in Hanover Park on Lake Street near the Elgin-O'Hare Expressway that I think sells San Pellegrino. It's called Caputo's.

I don't know if they sell exactly the version you're looking for, but it may be worth a try to give them a call (630-372-2800).

Caputo's might sell it, I have only been there a handful of times.

Thanks. I've tried Caputo's, and every other Italian grocery I know. But I'll keep looking.

Just went to Caputo's yesterday. They have San Pellegrino Chinotto, Aranciata and Limonata. I did not see if the Aranciata also said "Amara" on it. Is that different from the Aranciata?

Yes... Aranciata is the regular orange. Aranciata Amara is Bitter Orange.

I'll check out the Kehe lead...

    Good luck finding this product.

Finding any bitter product in the U.S., I've found, is very difficult. Once in a while I can find bitter lemon, but that's only in ethnic groceries.

Well, now I know where I'm going next time I'm in New York.

I was pleased, however, to discover that the Binny's chain here in Chicago is now carrying Schweppes Bitter Lemon. They also carry GUS products, which I've become quite fond of, despite the price.
