Default Workplace Cream Soda Tasting Results

The results are in on the Workplace Cream Soda Taste Test. 11 of us sampled 11 different sodas. Based on the number of ballots that the sodas appeared on and their highest ranking (one point for appearing on the ballot and an additional point for each #1 ranking), Briar’s was the run-away favorite followed by a tie for second between Dr. Brown’s and Stewart’s with Boylan’s in third. Looks like NJ/NY is the cream soda king amongst the brands we could get our hands on easily:

    LIKED BEST:

Brand (No. of top 3 ballots; #1 rankings; No. of points; Highest rank)

    Briar’s (9; 6; 15; 1)
    Dr. Brown’s (6; 2; 8; 1)
    Stewart’s (6; 2; 8; 1)
    Boylan’s (4; 1; 5; 1)
    IBC (3; -; 3; 3)
    Jones (2; -; 2; 2)
    Virgil’s (2; -; 2; 3)
    D&G (1; -; 1; 2)
    A&W (1; -; 1; 3)

No runaway loser this time around. Tommyknocker’s, Jones and A&W were all pretty close when it came to the bottom three voting:

    LIKED LEAST

Brand (No. of bottom 3 ballots; #11 rankings; No. of points; Lowest rank)

    Tommyknocker’s (6; 3; 9; 11)
    Jones (6; 2; 8; 11)
    A&W (5; 2; 7; 11)
    Hank’s (4; 2; 6; 11)
    Stewart’s (3; 1; 4; 11)
    Dr. Brown’s (3; 1; 4; 11)
    Virgil’s (2; -; 2; 10)
    Boylan’s (2; -; 2; 9)
    D&G (1; -; 1; 10)
    IBC (1; -; 1; 10)
With thousands of sodas available for the choosing, why drink just one or two?

I would have tried to get Barq's red creme and Big Red in their. It seems your survey is a little bit slanted towards the 'Vanilla creme" style.
    real Sugar, not HFCS

Next time you do one of those, you need to add in Sprecher's Cream Soda. MMMmm, awesome!

We excluded red, orange and blue creams from the test by design. We didn't think they would be a fair comparison. Not to mention that neither Barq's or Big Red is available here and we weren't interested in paying to have it shipped in. We couldn't find Sprecher's, but did enjoy their root beer that a friend brought back for us to try.

Locally, I really, really love Polar and Adirondack. Now that Target is open, I see my self drinking a lot of Jones Creme Soda.

I like Mug Creme a lot better than A&W, so much that I wish it was sold locally. But I can live with A&W.

Either way, I LOVE all Creme soda.
