Launching new product

I have a very naive question.

I am trying to develop a new powder-mix drink for endurance athletes. Can any point point me in the direction of what I need to do in order to get "approval" to sell the stuff? I imagine at least I would need to be covered by LLC, is there anything else since it is a food product?
