So, Pepsi is going to make more sodas like Edge? That would/will(???) suck(Unless (somehow)they make it all sugar, no HFCS)!

I can vision that Pepsi could have it's own "Coke II"
disaster. I just can't see how Pepsi could change the sugar
content of Pepsi with out decimating it's flavor profile.

Pepsi would be absolutely nuts to reduce the sugar content of its core product. Unless they plan on switching back to cane sugar, which would slightly reduce the content if I'm not mistaken.

But hopefully this will only be for things like juice drinks. Consumers aren't dumb. They know what they're getting when they drink a soda. Between this and things like the "beverage tax", I'm starting to think that the fear of obesity is more of an epidemic than obesity itself.

While it said "core brands" it did not say "Brand Pepsi" specifically. Pepsi DID do this before, reducing the sugar content, but that was over 50 years ago. I don't think they'd do it again. I think this is more about Frito Lay products and maybe some sodas.

They are supposed to reduce sodium too. They may be able to do that without changing the flavor too much. I'm guessing that would mean changes in preservatives?

They should go the other way... start adding fat to their sodas for a rich, indulgent taste.

    Thumbs down

I think the new Pepsi version DOESNT TASTE AS GOOD,ETC.....

Im getting as many 12pks as I can of the ORIGINAL FORMULA (41g of sugar (Compared to 28g in the new one))

Are they only making these disgusting changes for the USA version??

I cant find any of the 2 Liter Bottles @ the moment of the original....

The Original IS JUST LIKE PEPSI THROWBACK 2009 (Except for the sugar used (ITS ALMOST AS GOOD))

Um, 28 grams is the amount in an 8 oz. (cup) serving, while 41 grams is the amount in a can.

I'm starting to wonder if you're just distorting facts to get a rise out of people.

No i can taste a difference!!

I had a 2 liter bottle a few weeks ago that said 150 carolies/41g of sugar on it,then i got another one last week and it said 100 carolies/28g sugar (AND IT DOESNT TASTE QUITE AS GOOD)

    Sodium is lower also.........
