Considering the politics of California and how much of a nanny-state it is like NYC, I think it is far off from going to any other state in the near future.

To be fair, you would also have to label juice, juice drinks and other drinks, they are often loaded with sugar as well.

Orange juice 36g

Even the flavored alcoholic drinks are sugary.

What really needs to be labeled are politicians and Educators, not sugary drinks. Politicians and Educators should be required to wear a shirt wherever they go that says on it in bold letters:
WARNING: THIS INDIVIDUAL MAY BE FULL OF SH!T, WHICH HAS PROVEN TO BE A HAZZARD TO THE HEALTH OF THE NATION AS A WHOLE.

It's not going effect soda consumption or sales much. There's the Prop 65 warnings everywhere in CA and no one pays attention to them or knows what they are. I'd rather have this warning label then have someone limit the soda size I could order/drink. No worries! Still love CA!
