Balance has grown to the point where we need a Brand Manager. This is an exciting position for a highly intelligent, creative person who blends original thinking with the discipline of seeing ideas through to completion. Given the healthy and unique space we occupy in the beverage industry and a great name and product line up, we are looking for an individual who can show the organizational leadership to take the brand to the next level in the United States, and potentially internationally. It’s a roll-your-sleeves up, work in a small entrepreneurial group, find solutions not problems, and make big decisions, type of environment that will give your work satisfying exposure.
-Lead the development and execution of marketing strategies and plans for the brand.
-Create project plans and budgets for the brand, develop schedules, and manage projects to completion, within budgetary limitations and on strategy.
-Gain an intimate understanding of the consumer current and future trends, develop competitive analysis, and develop ongoing understanding of consumer activity at retail.
-Develop and execute plans for in-store promotional planning and strategy.
-Develop and execute plans for online social media and other various press outlets to build brand awareness.
-Create concepts and designs for trade shows, advertising and collateral materials, and identify opportunities for promotional items, in line with brand story.
-Manage marketing budgets and, over time, begin to manage brand P&L with finance.
-Develop strategies for company and brand web site. Analyze consumer data to monitor health of business and identify trends pertaining to category, brand and competition.
-Work with outside Ad, PR, and Marketing agencies to build brand awareness.
-Work with complementary beverage companies and develop partner alliance programs.
-Must have ability to analyze complex data and situations and develop simple solutions.
-Must think creatively and bring solutions to the table.
-Must possess strong strategic skills to drive short and long term brand growth and profitability.
-Ability to work in a small team environment.
-Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred.
-4+ years of packaged goods brand/product management experience with a record of increasing responsibility.
-2+ years of profit and loss responsibility, including managing brand expense budget.
-Has developed and executed annual marketing plans, including advertising, media and consumer promotion planning.
-International marketing experience a plus.
-Small company or startup experience a plus.
