As products that have incubated in natural and specialty stores move into mainstream retailing channels, different stories start to occur.
As they go mainstream — as they shift channels — some products maintain their hold on their consumers, some don’t — but the growth of the natural channel overall is blurring the ability of many brands to get a clear picture of their growth. You have to wonder which product classes are truly growing, and which ones have plateaued.
That’s why it’s significant that the BevNET Live audience will be treated to in depth data analyzing the effects of channel shifting on more than a dozen key beverage categories, courtesy of IRI and SPINS, a pair of leading retail information providers.
The talk, presented by Brian Reed, a principal with IRI’s Market Structure unit, and Kathryn Peters, the EVP of Business Development at SPINS, will reveal surprising — and valuable — information about which beverage categories are rising and falling, as well as where opportunities might lie to extend and accelerate growth for maturing brands and to fend off stasis for those that may be approaching their plateau.
Presented with the pair’s engaging style and deep well of shopper and retailer data, this discussion, “From Channel Shifting to Consumer Change” will offer new brands the clues they need to better identify their shoppers — and the stores they are shopping.
