BevNET is delighted to announce that the preliminary agenda for Food and Beverage University (FBU) Boston, a one-day business education and networking event for entrepreneurial food and beverage companies, has been posted.

Featuring a comprehensive mix of talks by successful entrepreneurs, investors, and the teams behind the development of hundreds of CPG companies, FBU Boston will take place on March 27 at the Artists for Humanities EpiCenter at 100 W. 2nd St. in the Fort Point Channel neighborhood.

Mixing the experience of company founders with the expertise of industry professionals, FBU Boston will offer early-stage food and beverage entrepreneurs an unprecedented understanding of all aspects of building a scalable business. Attendees can expect a clear-eyed look at the challenges they will face, as well as the knowledge they need to reach product development and sales milestones that can summon the good fortune of broad distribution and investment behind a hit brand.

In addition to a look at the best practices for designing and formulating products and bringing them to market, the day will feature a hard look at the financial requirements and planning process that can help new companies avoid economic missteps. Over the course of the day, attendees will have the chance to discuss a variety of paths to financial growth, from brand incubators to crowdfunding options, as well as traditional investment funds.

Newly added speakers include:

  • Jordan Gaspar, co-founder, Accel Foods, a national packaged food and beverage accelerator with a dedicated investment fund, who will join a discussion explaining the brand incubation model
  • Debbie Wildrick, the Chief Brand Advisor at MetaBrand and a former 7-Eleven executive, who will be on hand to outline the key objectives of a variety of retailers, from development channels like natural and specialty to the more mainstream grocery and drug accounts that can create rapid growth for brands
